On Arwy, matching already happened quietly while you read: open a book, and the app gently connects you with others reading it too. That's lovely — but it left you waiting. So we asked ourselves a simple question: what if you could go looking for those readers yourself, instead of waiting for them to show up?
That question turned into the biggest change of the week.
In short: a swipe-based match screen, clearer tabs for your matches and requests, honest plans, a new app icon, and a theme toggle on the sign-in screen.
Swipe to meet readers like you
The match screen now has a "Swipe" mode. We look at the kinds of books you read and bring you a stack of cards — other readers, sorted by how much your tastes overlap. Each card shows the person, a match-percentage, their top genres, and a short bio.
- Swipe right to send a match request, left to pass. Simple as that.
- The match score is real. It's built from the genres you both actually read — not a random number. The closer your reading tastes, the higher it climbs.
- You stay in control. When someone sends you a request, you decide: accept and start a conversation, or pass. No surprise connections.
Tabs that keep your matches tidy
The match screen is now organized into clear tabs, so nothing gets lost:
- Matches — the people you've already connected with.
- Requests — readers who want to match with you, with Accept and Pass right there.
- Pending — requests you've sent that are still waiting, which you can take back anytime.
We also gave "Reading Now" and "Recent Matches" a warmer look — covers, reader counts, and the little stack of people reading a book right now.
Plans, made honest
We took a hard look at our subscription plans and cleaned up anything that was vague. We'd rather be plain with you than dress things up.
- Daily swipes are now spelled out: Premium gets 10 a day, Elite 20, and Elite+ 50. No fine print, no guessing.
- Elite+ now means unlimited daily matches — the kind that happen while you read.
- We dropped the "coming soon" promises from Elite+. We don't want to sell you features that aren't here yet. Elite+ is simply Elite with bigger limits — and that's exactly how it's described now.
- Switching plans reflects instantly. If you upgrade or downgrade, your new plan shows up right away instead of lagging behind.
A fresh face: the new app icon
You may have already noticed it on your home screen — Arwy has a new icon. Cleaner, warmer, and unmistakably ours. Same heart, same warmth, a little more polish.
Light or dark — your call, from the very first screen
We added a small but satisfying touch to the sign-in screens: a theme toggle. Tap the moon to slip into dark mode, the sun to come back to light. And the Arwy logo on the sign-in form quietly adapts to whichever you choose. It's a tiny thing, but it means Arwy feels like yours from the very first tap — before you've even logged in.
