You can reach the Match screen from the heart icon on your home screen. At the top you'll spot a switch and a few controls; below, your tabs. Here's everything, in order.
Tip: matching only happens when your "match mood" is on. If you ever want to go quiet for a while, just toggle it off — no one's matched, nothing's lost.
Reading Now & Recent Matches
Near the top you'll see Reading Now — books being read this very moment, each with a count of how many readers and a little stack of their avatars. It's a live pulse of the community. Below that, Recent Matches shows the people you've connected with, as cards featuring their profile and top genres. Tap one to view their profile.
The three tabs
The heart of this screen is a row of tabs that keep everything tidy:
- Matches — everyone you've already connected with. Tap to open a chat.
- Requests — readers who want to match with you. Each has Accept and Pass right there. (A little badge tells you how many are waiting.)
- Pending — requests you've sent that haven't been answered yet. You can take any of them back anytime.
The "Swipe" button — go find readers
See the Swipe button in the top bar (the one with the little stacked avatars and a green outline)? Tap it to open the For You swipe page. This is where you actively go looking:
- You get a stack of cards, each a reader, sorted by how closely your reading taste matches theirs.
- Each card shows a match score (built from the genres you both read), their top genres, and a short bio.
- Swipe right (or tap the green button) to send a match request; swipe left to pass.
- Tap Refresh for a fresh batch when you've gone through the stack.
A higher score means your shelves agree — a head start on a great conversation.
Quietly matched while you read
You don't have to swipe to meet people. Just by reading a book, Arwy connects you with others reading it too — a banner slides in from the top when it happens. The Match screen is simply where all those connections gather. (Full story: how matching over books works.)
Filters & preferences
Tap the settings/filter icon in the top bar to fine-tune who you match with — gender preference, age range, and distance (proximity). A little orange dot appears when you have a filter active. Some filters are part of the paid plans; you'll see clearly which.
Next in the series: writing and publishing your own book. To understand the magic underneath this screen, read why reading the same book connects people.
