Arwy guide: your Home screen, explained

Welcome to Arwy! This is the first in a series where we walk you through every screen of the app, one tip at a time. Let's start where you'll spend a lot of your time: the home screen — a feed that's built entirely around you.

The first thing to know about your Arwy home screen is what it isn't: it's not a billboard showing everyone the same bestsellers. It's a personal feed that quietly rearranges itself around your reading life. Empty for you? It fills in as you read, write and follow people. Here's what each part does.

Tip: the more you read, write and follow, the smarter and richer your home feed becomes. Give it a few sessions to get to know you.

Right at the top, you'll find the books you've started but haven't finished, each with a little progress bar so you know exactly where you left off. Tap one and you drop straight back into the right chapter. It's the fastest way to pick up where you stopped — no hunting required.

Continue Writing (if you're an author)

Started writing a book? This row keeps your works-in-progress one tap away, with their status (draft or published). Haven't written anything yet? You'll see a gentle nudge to start your first book instead. (We cover writing in its own guide.)

For You

This is your personal recommendation row — books picked for you based on the genres and stories you actually read. Tap "See all" to open the full list, where you can sort and keep scrolling. The more you read, the sharper these picks get.

Friends Are Reading

One of our favorite sections. It shows books that people you follow (and people you've matched with) are reading right now. Look for the little 👥 badge on a cover — it tells you how many of your friends are reading that book. We deliberately don't show who, to respect everyone's privacy. The more friends on a book, the higher it climbs.

New from people you follow

When the authors you follow publish something new, it lands here. It's your front-row seat to fresh chapters from writers you already love. Follow more authors to keep this row lively.

The Libraries section

Scroll down past the book rows and you'll hit a "Libraries 📚" area. Libraries are curated collections — like playlists, but for books. Here you'll see your own libraries and the libraries you follow, shown as rich cards with the cover, book count, genres, rating and any content warnings. It's a great way to discover whole shelves at once. (More in our Libraries guide.)

Top bar tips

  • Top-left heart icon jumps you to the Match screen.
  • Top-right bell opens your notifications (with an unread badge).
  • Pull down to refresh the whole feed any time.

That's home base. Next in the series, we'll explore the Discover tab — where you go hunting for something new. New to the app entirely? Start with how matching over books works.

Haven't got Arwy yet? Get it on Google Play and make the home screen your own.
