The real benefits of reading every day

We're told reading is good for us so often that it's easy to tune it out. But the benefits of a daily reading habit are real, specific, and surprisingly large — for your mind, your mood, and even the way you relate to other people.

Reading is one of the rare activities that's both a pleasure and an investment. You do it because you enjoy it, and it quietly pays you back in ways you'd never list as a "benefit." Here are the big ones.
